ćInformation relating to sickness allowancećEmployees’ entitlement to sickness allowance under the Employment Ordinance (EO) will not be affected after the launch of electronic medical certificates by the Hospital Authority. An employer who without reasonable excuse fails to pay sickness allowance to an eligible employee is subject to a fine of $50,000 upon conviction.
